“It’s okay to ask each other if we’re okay”

Atlantic Warehouse Manager Damian Bailey has become the company’s Mental Health First Aider after successfully completing a two-day course.

The QA Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that raises learners’ awareness of mental health, develops an understanding on how to support, reassure and signpost fellow colleagues to professional support.

“Mental health is a serious illness that unfortunately will affect some if not most of us at some point in our life and working career” said Damian, who is our Carrwood Road based Warehouse Manager.

“The course did not make me a doctor or psychiatrist – what it did do though was help me understand what can trigger episodes and what signs to look for someone who might be suffering in silence and then give good sound advice to the person suffering.
